BACKGROUND
A guy (mid 30s) with a shop in his home is bothered by his family which depends on him for all domestic necessities like soap, sugar, salt etc from his shop. He decides to sell off the shop (Ugx500,000) and come to Kampala, in order to run away from family responsibility.
In Kampala, he rents for three months in Kasubi, buys several house hold utensils and beddings off his capital. He soon realizes that the remaining money is not enough for him to start a business and decides to search for a job.
After a week of noon-stop searching he gets a job of loading and off loading crates in Coca-Cola. As fate would have it, he makes a loss of 30,000 on the first day, by the end of the week the poor man’s shortage was higher than his monthly salary. Like any other human being he quits the job for another.
This time round he takes on a pan cakes business. However he naively buys expensive ingredients for his pans; this coupled with inexperienced baking leading to another loss!(ends up eating them after people refusing to buy)
Nevertheless, another turn for fulfilling the old adage that misfortunes never come singly surfaces when he lost the receipts for the house rent. Foolishly, he informs the landlord, who later turns against him and shamelessly demands payment. Stuck in the city, he sells off all the house hold utensils and beddings cheaply to raise some money for transport back following his eviction from the house.

Mother said we do not have salt, paraffin and soap. Oh even aunt Kobusingy said you give her 1kg of sugar, she does not have money yet her in-law is visiting her today.
Ndyomunsi:
I know this will end soon when I leave Bushenyi that is when you will understand the way I have been tired of you people.

I will pick you from the bus park come very early in the morning so that we may get the room for rent.
SCENE TWO (takes place in Kampala)
Ndyomunsi:
Aah now am in this big city Kampala they won’t disturb me any more.
Narration:
After hours of searching for the house to rent they got it in Kasubi, they paid 3 months rent of 180,000/=, house broker 30,000/= and the balance for capital remained 270,000/=, he realizes that his remaining capital was not enough to start up a business yet he had to buy other house hold utensils and beddings, transport, and daily food. He decides to look for a job.
After several days of searching for a job Ndyomunsi got for loading and off loading crates in Coca-Cola Company.
SCENE THREE (takes place in Kampala)
Ndyomunsi:
Andrew after working for only one day I have made a shortage of 30,000/= but have to persist.
Narration:
By the end of the week Ndyomunsi had incurred a shortage of the amount which was bigger than his monthly salary.
Ndyomunsi:
Andrew am quitting this job.
Andrew:
Why can’t you persist for one more month and what are you going to do now?
Ndyomunsi:
You see Kampala is a land of opportunities I will try other things. I have an idea of starting a pan cakes baking business to sell around town because I saw many people buying pan cakes in Owino market. I know I will stabilize in Kampala.
Narration:
At this moment Ndyomunsi had remained with little money which he used to start up a pan cake baking business but his lack of experience costed him in buying expensive ingredients and also making substandard pan cakes which did not sell.
Ndyomunsi:
Mwana Andrew my pan cakes did no sell but won’t lose twice I will have to eat all of them as I keep on trying.
Narration:
After four days he realized that he had lost the receipts of the house rent and he had to report to the land lord.
Ndyomunsi:
Sir I misplaced my receipts but do not know if you can get for me the others.
Land lord:
By the way Ndyomunsi the month is coming to an end and you have not yet paid I need my money before this week ends.
Ndyomunsi:
Ayi bambe! Ashi okugyenda this is real robbery.
Narration:
Ndyomunsi had no money left with him so he had to sell the house hold utensils like the bed at 20,000/= and others to get transport to get back to Bushenyi.
Ndyomunsi:
I thought I was making life trouble-free yet it was a mistake Kampala is hotter than Bushenyi.
